About Bumbling Panda

Hi guys, welcome to Bumbling Panda! My name is Van. I’m a YouTuber who started off sewing and making video tutorials because I wanted to share my hobby with everyone and get them excited about making their own clothes too! I also like to paint, draw, write, and do like a million other things. You can call me a serial hobbyist who sometimes bites off more than she can chew.

I don’t know what else to say, so here’s a picture of me sipping tea and pretending I’m in a Jane Austen novel. When in doubt, pinky out!

Also, I like pandas. Like, a lot. You have no idea. Anyway–

Here’s a tentative schedule of what you can expect on my blog:

Makeup Mondays: I review a beauty product or something I’m obsessed over

Tutorial Tuesdays: I post either a video from my YouTube Channel or a photo tutorial on my blog

Work in Progress Wednesdays: a sneak peak of my latest project

Outfits on a Budget Thrifty Thursdays: I post outfits on a budget 🙂

TMI Fridays: Too much information you probably don’t want to know about me. You’ve been warned

or

DIY Fridays: I post a tutorial of something most likely non-clothing-related (like my plushies!) or just whatever I felt like making but couldn’t wait until Tutorial Tuesday to post 🙂

And I guess you can read our formal ‘about us’ below. Heh.

About us

Bumbling Panda brings a sustainable, fashionable and affordable way of dressing. Our hybrid clothing combines eco-friendly, recycled clothes with new materials to create unique, one-of-a-kind designs. We are dedicated to bringing awareness of the environmental pollution caused by disposing of clothes in America. Our clothes combine new material with recycled clothes that otherwise would go to landfills.

My name is Van Hoang and I am the founder and designer behind Bumbling Panda. I was first inspired to sew hybrid clothing during my economic struggles to dress fashionably while I was attending college. As an out of state student at the University of New Mexico, my financial aid did not cover all of my tuition. In order to support myself, I looked for other options to dress fashionably. Not only did I begin sewing my own clothes and shopping at second-hand stores, I also began designing new products with materials I found at thrift stores. This experience opened my eyes to the tons and tons of clothes that end up in landfills.

I wanted to create something that would help our environment but at the same time touch the lives of everyday Americans in an emotional, physical and financial way. Everyone needs clothes. By recycling and re-purposing the material of used clothes and combining those with new material to make fashionable and affordable clothe, I was able to accomplish my desire to be fashionable but also eco-friendly. Americans will be getting a product that will reduce the cost of clothes, create jobs and endorse another viable way to recycle. But, most importantly, we will give the world the chance to dress responsibly.
